Gun Displayed During Driving Altercation: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

Police said the person with the gun was not the aggressor during the dispute.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Joseph M. Rodriguez, 30, of the 140 block of S. Wabash Drive, Bradley, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper display of a registration plate, and was arrested at 4:03 p.m. Dec. 20, at Buffalo Grove Road and Aptakisic. A court date of Jan. 5 was assigned.

Roman Mahola, 37, of the 100 block of Bar Harbour Road, Schaumburg, is accused of driving under the influence, and was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 24, in the 40 block of Raupp Boulevard. A court date of Jan. 21 was assigned.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE

  • Alejandra Alencaster Chavez, 34, of the 4200 block of Bonhill Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended, and was arrested at 5:21 p.m. Dec. 24, at Timberhill and Lake Cook roads. A court date of Jan. 16 was assigned.
  • David E. Lehtman, 53, of the 100 block of Autum Court, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 5:16 p.m. Dec. 26, at Deerfield and Highland Grove. A court date of Jan. 14 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

UNWANTED PERSON

A male visiting another person at the Extended Stay America, 1520 E. Busch Parkway, was asked to leave at 1:48 p.m. Dec. 18, and trespassed from the property.

MOTORIST DISPUTE

Two people were involved in a driving altercation at 9:42 a.m. Dec. 30, in the 600 block of W. Deerfield Parkway. According to police, one of the two, who was not the aggressor, displayed a gun. Following a thorough investigation, both parties were sent on their way with no charges.
