'His Heart Is Unmatched': Buffalo Grove Star Student Athlete

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Jax is one of the most genuine teammates you will ever find. He can be quiet, shy and soft spoken, but his heart is one that is unmatched. He cares about his teammates and how they feel, and is always rooting for them on and off the field. All he wants and asks is for people to like him and be his friend. He has a love and passion for all sports, but mostly football. While at times being a middle schooler doesn’t come easy, the field is where he feels he can be himself and build his confidence, which transcends into all aspects of his life. I may be biased as his mom, but my heart explodes daily for how loving and just what a good soul he has.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

He gives back in any way he can. Whenever volunteer opportunities arise, he’s the first to want to help others. He takes on the feelings and emotions of his friends and it’s so important to him to make them be okay and feel good in tough times
