Her decades-long commitment, inspired by helping a friend’s father with leukemia, highlights the ongoing need for platelet donors, especially for patients undergoing cancer treatments, transplants, and complex surgeries. 
• Cellphone Thrown Against Pavement During Parking Spot Dispute: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove police recently handled several incidents, including a dispute where a cellphone was thrown during an argument over a parking spot on Deerfield Parkway and a broken car window on Milwaukee Avenue. An arrest was also made on Dundee Road for driving on a suspended license, with a January court date set.
