Homicide Suspect Taken Into Custody Following Search Near Middle School: Wheeling PD
Police were asking residents to remain indoors until further notice Friday night as a search was being conducted near Holmes Middle School.
WHEELING, IL — A homicide suspect has been taken into custody following a search Friday night near Holmes Middle School and the surrounding area. Wheeling police, who were assisting the Des Plaines Police Department in the search, sent out a public safety announcement at around 10 p.m. regarding the search. Residents were asked to remain indoors until further notice, but that order has been since lifted.
Holmes Middle School is located at 221 S Wolf Road in Wheeling.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, last seen wearing a black shirt, gray shorts, black shoes and was carrying a white hat.
