Smoke Testing Continues In Buffalo Grove Monday

Smoke testing is one technique used to identify areas where unnecessary groundwater or rainfall is entering the sewer system.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL—Smoke testing continued Monday at 10:30 a.m. on the following streets– Cambridge Drive, Anthony Road, Trinity Court, Lake Boulevard, Dundee Road, Cambridge on the Lake and South Buffalo Grove Road, according to Buffalo Grove officials.

As part of this testing, smoke enters the sewer system to identify any defects. Residents could see smoke come up through the ground or from manholes, or in their homes if faulty connections exist.

The smoke used for the study is harmless, non‐toxic, low odor, creates no fire hazard, leaves no residue, and dissipates quickly.
