'Stay Vigilant' Regarding Phishing Scam: Village Of Buffalo Grove
The phishing scheme involves emails to residents who may have recently applied for zoning variations, according to officials.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Village officials are warning residents to be aware of a recent phishing scheme being sent out to anyone who may have recently applied for zoning variations.
According to the Village of Buffalo Grove, the phishing attack is made to look like a legitimate Village email using logos and staff names, and asks for a financial wire transfer.
Residents are reminded to "stay vigilant" and keep these tips in mind:

- The Village will never ask for payment for a permit or zoning variation through a wire transfer.
- Check the sender: All official Village emails are sent from our web domain ending with "@vbg.org."
