Summer Musical Returns To Buffalo Grove Park District

Big Deal Productions at the Buffalo Grove Park District, is delighted to present Footloose for the return of the annual Summer Musical at the Community Arts Center. This explosive musical, featuring your favorite songs from the movie of the same name, bursts onto the live stage right here in Buffalo Grove this week. Performances are scheduled for July 22, 23, 29 and 30 at 7:30 pm, and July 24 and 31 at 3 pm.

The production is directed by Buffalo Grove native, Abby Vombrack, with music direction from Aaron Kaplan of Northbrook, and choreography by Annie Snow of Chicago. Featuring a cast of 30 talented adults and teens from Buffalo Grove and surrounding areas, and a live 10-person orchestra, this is truly a must-see theatre experience. Director Abby Vombrack said, “Our cast has enthusiasm, heart, creativity and dedication; and, working with them has been a total delight. As their director, I've gotten to do the two things I love the most about working in theatre – having fun, and diving into the world of the show. They were ready to jump in with me; and, I can't thank them enough for that.”

This production offers an updated spin on the Footloose story. As Choreographer, Annie Snow, explains, “I am looking forward to seeing the audience experience our take on this show, as we are adding some more modern elements. It might resonate with folks differently seeing the show from this perspective.”

Tickets for all performances are now on sale at bigdealproductions.org. Tickets for adults and teens ages 13 and up are $18 in advance, or $20 at the door. Tickets for children ages 12 and under are $15 in advance, or $17 at the door. All ticket sales will incur a $1 convenience fee.
