Township Food Pantry at Buffalo Grove Farmers Market Sunday, June 29
Residents can donate food, purchase fresh produce at the market or make monetary contributions to help neighbors experiencing food scarcity.

The Vernon Township Food Pantry will be the featured nonprofit at the Buffalo Grove Farmers Market on Sunday, June 29. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mike Rylko Park, located at 951 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove. This event offers a great opportunity for residents to support local families in need while they shop for fresh, locally grown food. Residents will also get the chance to meet and speak with Township Board members and learn more about the Food Pantry and other services provided to the community.
Market Goers are encouraged to stop by the Township’s table to learn how the Food Pantry supports neighbors in need. Support can be provided in the following ways:
- Bring non-perishable food items from home
- Purchase fresh produce from market vendors to donate
- Make a monetary donation on-site
“We’re proud to be part of the Buffalo Grove Farmers Market and to be able to connect directly with area residents,” said Vernon Township Supervisor Tim Kobler. “If you choose to help support the Food Pantry, every donation - whether it’s a bag of groceries or a dollar - makes a difference for individuals and families in need.”

Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Food Pantry distributes approximately 4,500 pounds of food each month to neighbors in need. Monetary donations go a long way - just $1 can provide up to $10 worth of groceries through a partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank. These contributions play a vital role in helping local families access healthy, nutritious food during difficult times.
Now in its 17th year, the Buffalo Grove Farmers Market runs every Sunday through October 12, offering more than 30 vendors, live music, activities for children and a wide variety of locally made goods. Please note: In accordance with a Village of Buffalo Grove ordinance, dogs are not permitted at the Farmers Market.
