BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge police officer was suspended for a day earlier this year for repeated violations of the department's policy on hair, according to public records.

On June 20, Police Chief Marc Loftus, who issued the suspension, alleged the officer wore her hair in an "unsafe" and "unprofessional" manner, extending well below the bottom of her uniform shirt collar.

Patch obtained the documents on the matter through a public records request.

The previous violations date back to 2024, the order said.

She served her unpaid suspension on July 28. For that day, she was required to surrender her department-issued weapon, badge, facility access card and official department identification card.

A document that informed the officer of the exact date of her suspension was distributed to all department personnel. That page did not include the nature of the alleged violations.
