Burr Ridge Firm Seeks Property Tax Break
The mayor said the company must clear a "pretty high barrier."

BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge business is seeking to continue its property tax perk for another dozen years.
Accurate Partitions Corp., 160 Tower Drive, has filed a request for an extension of its tax incentive. The perk is a Cook County program, but the company needs the village's approval to be eligible.
Under the program, a firm's property taxes are reduced by half in the first five years, a quarter in the next five years and 10 percent in the final years, Village Administrator Evan Walter told the Village Board on Monday.

Other taxpayers pick up the slack when businesses receive breaks, so local taxing bodies lose nothing.
Walter recommended the board send the issue to the village's Economic Development Committee for review. The board voted in favor of doing so.

Mayor Gary Grasso said a company must clear a "pretty high barrier" for a continuation of a tax break, especially when other taxpayers make up the difference.
