Burr Ridge Firm's Driver Fired Shots: Authorities

The man, whose hometown was listed as Aurora, was found with a loaded handgun, police said.

BURR RIDGE, IL – An Illinois semi-truck driver was accused last week in Baltimore County, Maryland, of shooting a car with three occupants, including a 2-year-old, authorities said.

The tractor-trailer was identified as belonging to Tag Trans, a Burr Ridge company, according to a Maryland state police news release.

The driver was identified by police as 28-year-old Christian Ramos of Aurora; court records indicated Ramos lives in Melrose Park.

Shortly before midnight Wednesday, state police said they were called to Interstate 83 for a shooting of a Toyota Prius. No one was reported injured.

On Thursday, Ramos was found at a truck stop in Elkton, Maryland, where officers discovered in the truck a loaded .45-caliber handgun, several hundred rounds of ammunition and spent shell casings, state police said.

Pennsylvania state police are investigating three shootings that occurred Wednesday night along Interstate 83 in Pennsylvania.

Ramos faces attempted first-degree murder charges, among other offenses, police said.
