Burr Ridge Man Marks 100th Birthday
The resident attributed his longevity to good luck.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge resident celebrated his 100th birthday last week, attributing his longevity to luck, according to a news release.
Rupert "Bob" Wendall lives at Harvester Place retirement home, 150 S. Frontage Road. A party was held for him there Saturday.
The World War II veteran was a skilled craftsman and machine designer, according to Harvester Place's news release. Married for 25 years, he has five children, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

As for tips for the younger generation, Wendall said in the news release, "Find someone you can talk with, so you can talk for hours. You'll have a long-lasting relationship and healthy marriage."
