Burr Ridge Was In Tornado's Path: National Weather Service

A particular village neighborhood received the most damage in Wednesday's storm.

BURR RIDGE, IL – The National Weather Service's ground survey team confirmed a tornado went from Burr Ridge to Stickney on Wednesday night.

The tornado's winds could have reached a speed of 110 mph, the National Weather Service said in a tweet. In the tornado's path, numerous trees snapped and were uprooted, and several businesses saw major damage, the agency said.

Tornadoes usually go from the southwest to the northeast. That was apparently the case with the latest one. Stickney is about nine miles to Burr Ridge's northeast.
