Dik Drug Company Leaving Burr Ridge

One of the Village's largest sales-tax generators will be moving to Aurora, leaving only home health-care operations in Burr Ridge.

The Dik Drug Company (160 Tower Drive) has officially announced that it will be moving operations out of Burr Ridge, costing 44 employees their jobs and the Village a significant chunk of sales-tax revenue, the Doings Burr Ridge reports.

According to the paper, the company (founded 1914 by Edward and John Dik, bought by Cardinal Health in 2012) announced the decision last Monday in a letter to Village officials: all operations except DHC Healthcare, their home health-care division, will be moving to Aurora.

“It’s definitely going to open a void that we will have to fill,” Burr Ridge Village Administrator Steve Stricker told the paper.
