Don't worry, the DuPage County Health Department has thought of that. The department will offer screenings at the annual Back to School Fair Aug. 3, sponsored by Catholic Charities at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton. The county health department will screen children under the age of 19. School dental exams are required for children in kindergarten and grades 2 and 6. The county also will conduct vision screenings. The fair will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Information will be available at the fair about other health department programs and services for low-income families. Health department programs with informational tables at the fair include nutrition and hygiene, child car seats and All Kids Health Insurance.
