Friday Is The Last Day For Burr Ridge Residents To Order Trees

Hurry to order a new tree from Spring Grove Nurseries. Trees will delivered starting Saturday.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge residents have until Friday to order trees for their front yard as part of a village reforestation effort.

The village is purchasing trees through the Suburban Tree Consortium, 30 municipalities in the western suburbs that have contracted with Wilson Nurseries in Hampshire, Illinois. Trees in Burr Ridge are delivered by the Spring Grove Nursery in Mazon, Illinois for $10 a tree.

For $275, residents can also have their tree delivered and planted by iTree’s Chicagoland, along with mulch and a one-year warranty.

Residents can choose between a 2” Autumn Blaze Map for $203, a 2” Bur Oak for $254, a 2” New Horizon Elm for $211, a 2” Royal Raindrops Crabapple for $189, and a 5-6’ Colorado Spruce for $175. All trees are grown locally and will adjust well to local soils. They are delivered balled and burlapped, which means easier adaption and no need for extensive pruning.

Trees will be delivered in late October, and will be dormant upon delivery. Residents are asked to plant their trees as soon as they receive them to prevent them from dying.

Per Village regulations, residents must obtain a permit if they want to plant trees in their parkway. Fill out the order form here.
