Fundraiser For Willowbrook Shooting Victim: GoFundMe
The victim is still in the hospital with a "long healing journey ahead," his family said.
WILLOWBROOK, IL – A woman is raising money for the health care of her son, who she said is suffering from multiple wounds in the recent Willowbrook shooting.
A spokeswoman from the GoFundMe website alerted Patch to the online fundraiser, which was set up three days ago.
Gina HarKirat Harris posted the fundraiser, saying her son, Latrell, was currently healing. She said her son, who was shot four times, was still in the hospital.

"He has a long healing journey ahead and will have to be off work until his injuries heal," she wrote. "Many people have asked if there is any way to support (him). We are setting up this GoFundMe to help Latrell with the extensive medical bills and care, as well as funds to sustain him while he heals."
Gina Harris is a teacher at Julian Middle School in Oak Park, according to the school's website. She is a former board member for Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office updated the public Monday on its investigation into the Willowbrook shooting.
Patch contacted Gina Harris through the contact information on GoFundMe, asking for permission to use the photo of her son.
In an email, she said Patch did not have permission to use any information about her son and that she would notify her legal counsel that Patch reached out to her.
GoFundMe spokeswoman Ese Esan told Patch in an email she could confirm the fundraiser has been verified by GoFundMe's Trust & Safety team
