Hinsdale Police Host Drug Take Back Day

The event will take place Sept. 26.

The Hinsdale Police Department is participating with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on its ninth National Prescription Drug Take- Back Day.

On Saturday September 26, 2015 from 10:00am-2:00pm the Hinsdale Police Department will be collecting expired, unused, unwanted prescription drugs and over the counter drugs for destruction.

Rates of prescription drug abuse in the United States are increasing at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. Many people do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medicine, often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away- both potential safety and health hazards.
