No Appetite For Apartments In Burr Ridge: Mayor
Despite objections, the owner of the TCF Bank property continues to market the site for heavy residential use, Mayor Gary Grasso says.

BURR RIDGE — Burr Ridge's mayor said this week he believed that it would be inappropriate for the old TCF Bank property to be used for residential purposes, particularly apartments.
This comes as the village says the owner of the property at 800 Burr Ridge Parkway is considering proposals for 400 to 500 apartments on the site.
Mayor Gary Grasso remarked on the subject toward the end of Monday’s Village Board meeting.

Grasso told the board that despite making it clear to the owner that, in his opinion, the property would be inappropriate for residential use, the owner continues to market the property for heavy residential use.
“This village, this board, this mayor, has no appetite for a heavily residential facility,” Grasso told the board. “And specifically, certainly not, apartments.”

The mayor told trustees if he did not have their consensus, they should advise him at that moment.
No one objected.
“Good, that’s what I thought,” Grasso said.
