Three Residential Burglaries in Burr Ridge This Month
The following information was provided by the Burr Ridge Police Department.

At about 8:45 a.m. on March 13, received a report of a residential burglary on Old Mill Lane. Police say jewelry was taken in a possible “Ruse” burglary. Police say a man came to door and told an elderly resident he was working on construction in the area, and there was a problem with the water so he needed to come inside and check her water service.
He kept her busy for about 10 minutes and then left. She discovered jewelry missing two days later. Police say they do not believe there is any connection between this burglary and the last summer.
At about 9:27 a.m. on March 16, police received a report of a residential burglary on Chippewa Court. The resident said someone removed a safe from the master bathroom closet sometime between March 7 and March 9. The safe had some cash and jewelry inside. Police say there was no evidence of forced entry to the home, and it does not appear as though this burglary was related to the ruse burglary on March 13 and a break-in three days later on Wolf Road.
At about 10:16 a.m. on March 19, police received a report that someone had broken into a home on the 7500 Block of Wolf Road. The owner had discovered that someone had forced the door open. Police say a list of missing items has not been supplied yet, but there does not appear to be a connection between this and the other burglaries.
