Trees Down, Power Out Throughout Burr Ridge

Crews are cleaning up after storms that passed through the area Tuesday evening.

UPDATE: 10:59 p.m.

Burr Ridge Police report that trees are down in several areas in Burr Ridge, and power is out throughout Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills and Hinsdale.

Police could not provide the locations where trees are down at the time of this report, but Patch will continue to provide information as it becomes available.

The Tri-State Fire Protection district told Patch that there are "too many [power outages] to report" right now.

The tornado warning that was issued by the National Weather Service earlier Tuesday evening has expired, but runoff from excessive rainfall is expected to cause minor flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for DuPage County.

According to the NWS, Doppler Radar has shown a severe squall line capable of producing brief, rain-wrapped tornadoes and widespread straight line wind damage.

Although, no tornadoes are expected in Burr Ridge, sirens have been going off and dangerous storms are expected near Westmont, Woodridge and Oak Brook around 8:45 p.m.

Heavy rains and winds moving at 45 mph also are expected to impact the areas of Willowbrook and Oakbrook Terrace, so stay off the roads if you can. Read the complete NWS warning here.
