West Suburban School Districts Host 2nd Annual Student Art Expo
Several school districts, including Pleasantdale District 107, will participate in this year's event on April 23.

On April 23, more than 525 pieces of artwork created by local elementary and middle school students will be on display at Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave. in Oak Park.
This free event is open from 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

This marks the second consecutive year that the West Suburban Consortium for Academic Excellence (WSCAE) school districts are hosting the event to showcase K-8 student artwork from their schools. Student artists will be present to discuss their pieces during the display period.
Local professional artists from the surrounding communities will be on hand to view the artwork and provide feedback, and members of the Oak Park Art League will be leading live art demonstrations.

Represented districts include: Butler District 53, Community Consolidated School District 181, Franklin Park District 84, Gower District 62, LaGrange Highlands District 106, Hillside District 93, Komarek District 94, La Grange District 105, Oak Park District 97, Pleasantdale District 107, Riverside District 96, River Forest District 90, Union Ridge District 86 and Western Springs District 101.
District 90 Superintendent Ed Condon is working with the schools' art educators to plan the event.
"We are proud to welcome the community to an event that showcases the amazing talent of so many students. Together with the outstanding art teachers of our school districts, we are recognizing the hard work and creativity of more than 500 students."
