Good Evening Unit 4 Families,

I just wanted to let you all hear it from me first that mask protocols are changing before spring break. We just received (6:57pm) updated guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education regarding masks and schools.

Per the Governor's announcement, masks are optional for all schools and school districts starting Monday, Feb. 28. ISBE will work with the Illinois Department of Public Health to update our guidance documents as soon as possible.

As I stated in my email last night I believe our strong protocols have made our schools some of the safest places to be for students and staff.  I am very proud that we have not had to use an "adaptive pause" and credit our community for keeping our schools open.

I must say I totally understand the frustration some of you may be feeling due to the constant changes in guidance we have all experienced over the past two years. Please accept my sincerest thank you for pushing through all of this and for the support you have shown Unit 4.

We will continue to make available masks for all of our students that want them for the remainder of the school year.

Dr. Shelia E. Boozer

Superintendent
