Update: Route 6 Reopens After 5 Vehicle Crash

Grundy County Sheriff's officials said the Route 6 intersection will be closed indefinitely on Friday.

MINOOKA, IL — The Grundy County Sheriff's Office announced that a five-vehicle crash has prompted authorities to shut down Route 6 and McLinden Road. Friday's major wreck happened around 10:15 a.m.

"Please avoid the area of (McLinden) Road and Route 6. 5 vehicle accident with injuries. Grundy County, Minooka Police and Multiple fire departments on scene," Grundy County said on Facebook.

Around 1 p.m., the Minooka Police Department announced on social media that the McLinden Road and Route 6 intersection has been re-opened to traffic. Minooka is the lead agency investigating the crash.
