1. Arroyo Trails

📍North of US‑6 & Bell Road, Channahon, IL

A peaceful two‑mile out‑and‑back crushed‑stone trail winding through ravine, creek and forest. This easy-to-moderate, family-friendly trail features boardwalks, creek views, interpretive signage and fitness stations.


2. I&M Canal State Trail

📍Channahon State Park, Channahon, IL

A historic, mostly flat, crushed‑limestone trail along the old Illinois and Michigan Canal. This trail is considered easy in difficulty, great for walking or biking, with scenic views of the river and lockhouse.


3. McKinley Woods Loop (Will County Forest Preserve)

📍Frederick’s Grove, Channahon, IL

A 3.1‑mile loop through mixed forest, prairie and wetlands with natural‑surface and paved trails. Described as easy to moderate and wildlife-rich, this trail offers picnic shelters, river access and a nature center.


4. Lake Chaminwood Preserve Trail

📍Shepley Road, Channahon, IL

A one-mile paved lakeside loop on a quarry‑converted preserve. Easy and accessible, it connects to the I&M Canal Trail via a bridge, making it ideal for wildlife spotting and a leisurely stroll.


5. Grove Road Park Loop

6. Chief Shabbona Trail (Segment Near Aux Sable Aqueduct)

📍Access via I&M Canal Frontage Road East of Channahon

This smooth, compacted railroad-grade gravel trail offers flexible lengths; try the six-mile out-and-back route toward Gebhard Woods. Easy to moderate, it boasts scenic riverside and canal views, featuring historic locks and wildlife.
