Barrage of Bullets Leaves 1 Wounded
Dozens of shots were fired in the gun attack on the Hill.

A barrage of bullets fired by at least two men on the Hill left a teenager wounded Monday night.
The 19-year-old was hit in the shoulder. His wound was treated at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox and he was released from care.
Deputies with the Will County Sheriff’s Department were sent to Arthur Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. to investigate a report of multiple shots fired.

“Residents in the area confirmed that 30 to 40 shots were fired,” police said. The residents also reportedly told of two men armed with handguns among a group of even more men.
The wounded teen told deputies he was “walking out of a backyard when he heard the shots fired and was struck, causing him to fall to the ground,” police said. “He was not able to supply the deputies with any suspect information.”

In addition to the teen, three vehicles and two houses were hit by bullets, police said.
