Catalytic Converters Stolen From Minooka South Campus: Police

The same catalytic convert thief who targeted Joliet West and Joliet Junior College may be responsible for the Minooka South Campus crimes.

CHANNAHON, IL — The Channahon Police Department was notified on Tuesday afternoon that auto parts thieves targeted the Minooka Community High School South Campus, removing catalytic converters from four of the vehicles, before making a safe getaway.

Channahon police learned about the crimes around 2 p.m.

Channahon Deputy Police Chief Adam Bogart informed Joliet Patch that all the vehicles were parked along the west side of the high school building, out of view from inside the building.

Channahon police suspect that the crimes happened shortly later 11 a.m., according to Bogart.

Channahon police and detectives have identified a black Audi Q7 as a suspect vehicle; it's similar to the vehicle recently involved in catalytic converters from Joliet West High School and Joliet Junior College, Bogart said.

He asked that anyone with information about the theft or the black Audi SUV is asked to call the Channahon Police Department at 815-467-2112.
