The Village of Dreams
The Village of Channahon, located some 45 miles southwest of Chicago, continues to bustle with new residential construction activity. During 2018, the area continued to grow with over 100 new housing permits issued.
Ravine Woods Phase II was recently completed by Meadowbrook Builders, with homes going from the mid $300's. Woods of Aux Sable has also continued to preform well for Gardner Luxury Homes as well as CORE Homes with available lots starting to dwindle down for prospective buyers. According to CORE Homes CEO John Major, "We constructed around 15 homes in Whispering Oaks in 2018 and we expect that pace to continue to grow", Major says.

Diversity in Housing is Everything
The Keating Point subdivision has also came back to life with CORE Home's ranch Villas. This unique product has helped to fill the gap in current housing stock by offering a maintenance free, smaller housing product from the low $200's.
Also coming back to life is the long awaited Channahon Town Center. These turn of the century styled homes located in heart of Channahon are simply breathtaking. These homes, constructed by GDP homes, resume the over 20 year dream of Channahon's long awaited town center.
More Commercial on the Horizon
Three new gas stations will also be constructed this year, including a new Speedway located east of interstate 55 on US Route 6, along with a Love's Gas Station located on the old Werner Truck Terminal on east of interstate 55 on Bluff Road.
Casey's will also be constructing a new gas station similar to their gas station in neighboring Minooka. The existing Casey's on US Route 6 will be demolished upon completion.
Indeed, things for Chananhon continue to grow in a positive, meaningful way. With more residents relocating to the area and additional rooftops being added, the hopes for additional retail and dining should continue to be on the horizon.
