Motorcyclist Dies, Morris Man, 69, May Have Hit Deer: Coroner
The Grundy County Sheriff's Office made the traffic fatality announcement just before 11 a.m. Monday.

CARBON HILL — Grundy County Coroner John Callahan along with Grundy County Sheriff’s Department announced that a deer may have been responsible for causing Monday's deadly traffic crash that ended the life of 69-year-old Morris resident Thomas Malone.
Malone's life ended around 10:30 a.m. Monday on McArdle Road west of Carbon Hill.
According to Coroner Callahan, preliminary investigation indicates Malone was traveling eastbound on McArdle Road approximately half mile east of Jugtown Road when he lost control of his motorcycle.

A deer may have come in contact with the motorcycle, causing Malone to lose control of his motorcycle. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:55 a.m., the coroner noted.
The Grundy County traffic fatality remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff's Office.
