Fatal Crash: Motorcyclist In Channahon, Age 21, Dies On Route 6

CHANNAHON, IL — Grundy County Coroner John Callahan’s Office announced that they are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Channahon man involved in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred Sunday at 1:36 p.m. on Route 6 west of Gun Club Road. According to Callahan, the preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle driven by LJ Barga Jr. was traveling west on Route 6 when he lost control of the motorcycle and went into the eastbound lane of traffic.

He was struck by an oncoming vehicle and thrown from the motorcycle. The coroner’s office was notified at 2:29 p.m. and Barga was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:06 p.m.

The investigation remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, the coroner noted.
