High-Risk Search Warrant Served At This Channahon House
A shelter in place warning was given for the remaining residences on Deal Avenue south of McClintock and north of Andrew Avenue.

CHANNAHON, IL — Deputy Police Chief Matt Brooks issued a press release on Thursday morning announcing that at 5:30 a.m. on Halloween, the Channahon Police Department, with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Swat Team, executed a high-risk search warrant at 22628 Deal Avenue as part of a gun investigation.
One person is detained, however, "items discovered inside the home require additional remedies in order to declare the immediate area safe," Brooks announced.
The Illinois State Police and the Channahon Police Department have evacuated the necessary homes, and a shelter in place warning was given for the remaining residences on Deal Avenue south of McClintock and north of Andrew Avenue.

"Please avoid the area to allow safe police operations. An all clear message will be delivered once it is safe to do so," Brooks advised.
UPDATE: By 9 a.m. Brooks issued a follow-up press advisory saying that the "all clear has been issued for all residences on Deal Avenue. Police will remain on-scene, however, any potential threats to public safety have been remedied. A follow-up press release will be sent summarizing our police activity later today."
