I-55 Fatality: Channahon Man, 36, Dies In Late Night Wreck: Coroner
I-55 northbound was shut down at Bluff Road until around 4:30 a.m. according to the Illinois State Police.

CHANNAHON —After being closed down for several days as ComEd crews worked nonstop to remove the downed power lines, a Channahon man has become the first traffic fatality since Interstate 55 was reopened by the Illinois State Police.
Will County Coroner Laurie Summers identified the fatality victim as 36-year-old Michael Thrasher. He was rushed to St. Joe's Hospital, where he died at 12:10 a.m. on Friday.
According to the Illinois State Police, Thrasher's fatal happened at 11:09 p.m. on Thursday. He was heading north on Interstate 55 near Route 6 when his tragedy happened.

The Illinois State Police said it responded to the scene for a two-unit fatal crash, involving a truck-tractor, commonly called a bobtail, and a pickup truck.
The pickup struck the truck tractor. Thrasher, the pickup driver, was killed. I-55 northbound was shut down at Bluff Road until around 4:30 a.m.
