A wanted Joliet man allegedly blew the face off a pit bull with a firework, killing the dog.
Nicholas Garcia, 24, faces charges of criminal damage to property in connection with the July 7 incident in a Jackson Street alley.
Garcia and another man were reportedly lighting off fireworks in the alley when a pit bull picked one up.

The firework reportedly went off in the dog’s mouth, killing it.
Garcia intentionally tossed the fireworks so the dog would chase them and pick them up, police said.

The dog was worth more than $300, according to a criminal complaint filed this week.
Garcia remains at large. The warrant for his arrest carries a $50,000 bond.
