Joliet Paintball Sniper Claims 2nd Victim

Another man was hit by an orange paintball on the near west side.

Moments after a Joliet man was bruised and bloodied by orange paintballs while cutting his grass, another man was hit while walking into Sunshine Food Mart.

The 57-year-old man was entering the Wilcox Street convenience store about 7 p.m. Monday when he felt a stinging pain on the back of his left thigh. When he turned around, he saw orange paint on the back of his shorts.

Witnesses in the Sunshine Food Mart parking lot told police they saw the paintballs fired from a passing car.

Police believe the same shooter fired on a 64-year-old man who was cutting the grass at his North Raynor Avenue home. That man was hit twice, in the forearm and the chest. Both shots left large bruises and the man’s forearm was cut and bloody.

The Raynor Avenue attack was just before the one at Sunshine Food Mart. The shooter in that incident was riding in a gray, four-door car.
