The cops found the beaten mother on her bedroom floor, police said.

A Joliet woman viciously beat her mother before stealing money out of her purse, police said.
Kimberly Ledwell, 31, was charged with robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery in connection with the alleged July 22 attack on her 59-year-old mother. Ledwell was arrested Wednesday night at her Elizabeth Street home.
Ledwell had wanted money but her mother wouldn’t give her any, police said. Ledwell allegedly responded by grabbing her mother, throwing her to the floor, snatching up her purse and removing $200.

Officers sent to the home found Ledwell’s mother on the bedroom floor, bleeding from her forearm and other cuts, police said. She also complained of pain to her leg.
The mother reportedly told officers that earlier in the day, Ledwell threw an ashtray at her and hit her below the eye.

The mother was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Ledwell went to jail. Her bond was set at $100,000.
