Morris Woman Dies In Crash With Semi On Route 47
Thursday's fatality occurred around 9 a.m. in Dwight, Grundy County Coroner John Callahan announced.
DWIGHT, IL — Grundy County Coroner John Callahan announced that a woman from Morris died Thursday morning when her car collided with a semi-trailer along Route 47 in Dwight. On Friday, he said the fatality victim was Christine E. Baker, 61.
The Grundy Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fatality in the 9400 block of Route 47 that happened around 9 a.m.
In his news release, Callahan indicated that a semi-tractor trailer was traveling northbound on Route 47 when Baker's vehicle exited a driveway.

The semi was unable to stop, striking the vehicle in the driver’s side, authorities said. Dwight Fire/EMS assisted at the scene.
