Motorcyclist, 27, Dies Near DMV In Morris: Callahan

Wednesday afternoon's motorcycle fatality occurred along Route 6 in Morris.

MORRIS, IL — Grundy County Coroner John Callahan announced that a 27-year-old motorcycle rider died Wednesday afternoon when he crashed into a van near the entrance to the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicle office parking lot on Route 6.

The traffic fatality in Morris happened around 2 p.m.

"Preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle driven by 27 year old David T. Stickel of Bonefield, Illinois was eastbound on Route 6 when he struck a van exiting the DMV center parking lot," Callahan announced.

Authorities in Morris pronounced Stickel dead at the scene.

Wednesday's crash remains under investigation by Callahan’s Office and the Morris Police Department. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department is reconstructing the crash.
