Motorcyclist, 32, Dies In Grundy County Wreck

The Gardner resident missed a curve along the road and crashed into a ditch, the Grundy County Coroner's Office said.

COAL CITY, IL — Grundy County Coroner John Callahan announced that a motorcyclist killed over the weekend in rural Coal City has been identified as 32-year-old Tyler E. O'Neill of Gardner.

According to authorities, the fatal motorcycle crash was discovered early Sunday morning. The the Gardner man and his motorcycle were discovered in a grassy area off Berta Road south of Spring Road.

Preliminary investigation appears the driver was westbound approaching the curve when he failed to negotiate the curve and went through a ditch and into a large grass area, Coroner John Callahan said. The crash remains under investigation with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and the Grundy coroner’s Office.
