'Nothing Will Stop' Local Mom, 'GG' From Being There For Family

CHANNAHON-MINOOKA, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom will go above and beyond for her girls, but even more for the grandbabies and now she is a great grandma {GG}. My mom was always an at home mom with us growing up and then watched the grandbabies and now will travel 3 hours to help out with the great grand and help my daughter. She isn't in the best of health herself, but she always will put us kids before herself.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She is not in the best of health herself and she is not young anymore, but she will get in the car and drive 3 hours to be here for me her daughter or the granddaughter and great grand no matter what time or the weather—if we call she is coming no matter what, nothing will stop her.
