MORRIS — The death of a 38-year-old Joliet restaurant employee, Christann "Tana" Lee, who was run over by a car in downtown Morris, has resulted in Morris police filing criminal charges against the 30-year-old driver, Jamie Hage, authorities announced.
Back on Sept. 18, around 3 p.m., Hage was driving her car near Jackson and Franklin streets. As Lee was stepping out between two vehicles to cross the street, she was run over by Hage's car, Morris police announced late last week.
Hage was driving east along Jackson Street at the time of the fatality.

A resident of Morris, Lee suffered serious injuries, and was taken to the hospital. Four weeks after being hit by the car, she died on Oct. 15.
Back in 2004, Lee graduated from Coal City High School, and "she was a bright and rambunctious, artistic young lady. Her many artistic creations survive her," her obituary noted. "Tana was proud to be a Pisces. Having worked at many restaurant establishments, she often said she cared deeply about her regular customers. Most recently, she was working for China Kitchen in Joliet, IL, setting up a new business venture for the owners. Tana was happy and optimistic to be starting this new chapter in her life."

Morris police say their investigation into the fatal pedestrian crash revealed that Hage's THC levels were above the legal limit at the time of the crash. Hage was booked into the Grundy County Jail last Thursday in Morris on charges of aggravated DUI and failure to reduce speed.
