1 Airlifted To Hospital After Serious Crash Involving Car, Semi On Route 52: State Police

Illinois State Police were on the scene of Friday morning's crash involving a car and a semitrailer.

MINOOKA, IL — The Illinois State Police are handling a major crash involving a car and a semi-trailer Friday morning along Route 52 west of Shorewood at Grove Road. The car landed in the ditch, and the driver suffered life-threatening injuries.

A large section of Route 52 as well as Grove Road have been shut down by the Illinois State Police, working with the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, to keep semi-trailers and vehicles away from the site as they conduct their investigation.

According to the Illinois State Police, a tractor-trailer semi-trailer and a Honda car crashed on Route 52 and Grove Road at 8:22 a.m. in rural Minooka. The female driver of the car was taken by a helicopter to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
