MINOOKA, IL — Two people were on a motorcycle when it struck a school bus, killing one of the motorcyclists, Wednesday afternoon on Shepley Road in Troy Township.

One occupant of the motorcycle, a man, was dead at the scene, and a woman was taken to an area hospital after the crash, Will County Deputy Chief Dan Jungles told Patch. Officials said the woman suffered serious injuries but was conscious.

Jungles said it was his understanding the school bus was dropping off a child at the time of the crash. The school bus was stopped at the time the motorcycle crashed into it, Will County sheriff's officials later announced. The Minooka Fire Department, Troy Fire Department and Joliet Fire Department responded to the scene.
