Shorewood Woman Startled in Home by Intruder: Cops

The Country Club Hills man wandered into the young woman's home Saturday afternoon, police said.

A young woman was startled in her Shorewood home by an intruder who wandered in uninvited, police said.

The woman was in an upstairs bedroom of her Parkshore Drive home Saturday afternoon when 30-year-old Darren Johnson of Country Club Hills appeared in the house, police said. Johnson apparently let himself in through an unlocked door.

Johnson, who had been visiting the woman’s next-door neighbors, tried striking up a conversation with her, police said. The woman had reportedly never met Johnson before and had no idea who he was.
