'Very Strong' Man - Probably High on PCP - Takes on Cops and Paramedics: Police
The man elbowed an officer in her nose, police said.

It took two cops and two paramedics to restrain a “very strong man” who was probably high on PCP, police said.
Derrick Bester, 40, was repeatedly hit with Tasers but the electric current had no effect on him, police said. Two police officers and two paramedics reportedly grabbed hold of Bester’s arms and legs but he was still able to continue fighting and he allegedly elbowed one officer in her nose.
Bester’s 59-year-old father and 57-year-old mother reportedly called the cops to their Gardner Street home Friday afternoon for help with their son.

Bester was pacing about, police said, and refused to get into an ambulance. He reportedly struggled with the police and paramedics, and when they tried to handcuff him he snatched the cuffs away and swung them like a weapon.
Even with an officer or paramedic clinging to each of Bester’s limbs, he still struggled and would not be subdued, police said. Eventually, Bester was handcuffed and taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

During the fight, marijuana fell out of Bester’s pants, police said. The marijuana reportedly appeared to have been laced with PCP.
Bester was taken from St. Joe’s to the Will County jail, where he was booked on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting or obstructing a police officer, and possession of marijuana.
