W.B.O. School Perfect Pals Club helps with community service
Club sends letters, packages to veterans and deployed military

William B. Orenic Intermediate School Perfect Pals is a club that pairs students in the Life Skills program with those who are in more mainstream classes. One student joined because she said it was the perfect chance to do something important with her and her fellow students.
We never really get to know them, another said. You can learn
how to interact with different people and how they think about stuff.
Perfect Pals co-sponsors are W.B.O. teachers Savannah Smith and Maggie Klebenow.

“The process of finding names and addresses of service men and women involved collecting the names from students and staff throughout the district,” Smith said.
W.B.O. staff and students donated various items that made up the boxes,” Smith explained. “These supplies included soap, deodorant, tea, books, candy, snacks and more. There was a lot of engagement and hustle from students who created an assembly line that packaged ten boxes which were shipped within the United States and overseas. Students also included handwritten letters of gratitude.”
