14-Year-Old Boy With Gun Robs 12 People In 45 Minutes: Chicago PD
The juvenile is in custody and faces 12 counts of armed robbery after police said he held up victims during an early-morning crime spree.
CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with 12 counts of armed robbery after police said the juvenile was involved in seven hold-ups in less than an hour’s time early Tuesday in Chicago, police said on Wednesday.
In addition to the 12 counts of robbery while armed with a gun, the juvenile also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle and battery, a Chicago Police spokesman said.
The juvenile was arrested on Tuesday in the 2400 block of West Belmont Avenue, hours after police said he was involved in the seven incidents which took place between 1:50 and 2:35 a.m., police said.

The spree of robberies began at 1:50 a.m. in the 1100 block of Taylor Street, when police said the juvenile robbed a 29-year-old man. Other victims included a 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man on Canal Street at 1:55 a.m., a 36-year-old woman and 24-year-old man on Taylor Street at 2 a.m., a 28-year-old woman on South Canal Street at 2:20 a.m., a 44-year-old man on South Halsted at 2:25 a.m., a 41-year-old man and a 39-year-old man on West Chicago Avenue at 2:30 a.m. and finally, two men — ages 30 and 31 — on North Milwaukee Avenue at 2:35 a.m., police said.
The juvenile is in custody and police are not releasing any further information at this time.
