$18K In Candy Stolen During Last Day Of Chicago Exhibition
The sugary sweets were swiped as they were being loaded onto a truck Thursday at McCormick Place.

CHICAGO, IL — Around $18,000 worth candy was stolen Thursday at the Sweets and Snacks Exhibition at McCormick Place. That raises the question: What's the street value of chocolate bars and jelly beans.
The theft happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, the last day of the candy exhibition at McCormick Place, according to the Chicago Tribune. Boxes of sugary sweets from Kidsmania, CandyRific and Squire Boone Village were swiped when they were left unattended as they were being loaded onto a truck in the convention center's parking garage, the report added.
So far, no one has been taken into custody stemming from the theft. But with that much candy involved, it might be a good idea for Chicago police to stake out area dentists for possible suspects.
