  1. Two inbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway will be closed for three years due to a $150 million rehabilitation project. The project stretches for 7.5 miles from Lawrence Avenue to Ohio Street in Chicago and motorists will encounter new traffic patterns as far north as Cicero Avenue. On Tuesday morning, after the project began Monday evening, traffic was already backed up into the Edens Expressway and as far west as O'Hare International Airport. (NBC Chicago)
  2. Authorities have discovered the remains of Rosa Chacon, a missing woman from Illinois who was last seen getting into an Uber car in January. She was found tied up and wrapped in a sheet, left in a shopping cart in a Chicago alleyway. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office is still awaiting a cause and manner of death while the police continue with a homicide investigation. (Fox News)
  3. A dangerous, drug-resistant, and potentially deadly fungus, Candida auris, is spreading rapidly across the United States. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Illinois was among the states with the highest number of reported cases through the end of 2022, joining just five other states in reaching between 100 and 500 cases. Despite this, Chicago's Department of Public Health Commissioner, Dr. Allison Arwady, says the state may be better prepared for such a rise than others. (NBC Chicago)
