At a prescheduled community event in West Garfield Park, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said the shooting was an accident by a visiting relative.

"It was an accident," he said. "A visiting relative brought a gun to visit in a bag, one of the young kids were playing with the guns and accidentally shot one of the kids," Brown said.
