Advocate Trinity Hospital makes U.S. News ‘Best Hospitals' list again
U.S. News recognizes the South Side hospital among the top 20 hospitals in Illinois, Chicagoland.

U.S. News & World Report named Advocate Trinity Hospital among the top 20 hospitals in Illinois and among the top 20 hospitals in Chicagoland with yesterday’s release of its prestigious 2024-25 ‘Best Hospitals’ ranking survey. The South Side hospital, located at 2320 E. 93rd St., Chicago, climbed up one position over last year’s state and local Best Hospital rankings.
“Nearly 5 months ago we officially launched a new partnership with the community we serve to improve health and wellness on the South Side. While I am proud of the progress we’ve made along this journey, this honor acknowledges that our steadfast work to bring better health outcomes to the community started long ago,” said Advocate Trinity Hospital President Michelle Y. Blakely, PhD.
The U.S. news survey is designed to help patients and their doctors find the best hospital to treat their illness or condition. Each year, more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide are evaluated, assessing objective measures in most care areas, including risk-adjusted survival, readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.

Trinity, which has been recognized on the Best Hospitals list for several years, is one of six Advocate health Care hospitals listed among the best in Illinois – the most of any health system in the state.
“This honor stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our medical staff and team members who care for some of the sickest patients in the Chicago area,” Blakely said.

According to a 2019 study by UChicago Medicine, nearly 85% of hospitalized South Side residents have two or more chronic conditions such as hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, obesity, congestive heart failure, mental health & substance use issues and renal failure.
In May, U.S. News & World Report today announced that Advocate Trinity Hospital made its inaugural list of “Best Regional Hospitals” caring for patients in historically underserved communities. This list identified 53 hospitals in 26 states achieving excellent outcomes among socioeconomically vulnerable populations. Advocate Trinity is the only Chicagoland hospital on the list. Carle Hospital in Urbana is the only other Illinois hospitals on the list.
